Alibaug

Last week, we had been to alibaug to celebrate holi. Usually our trip to alibaug is a one day thing; we go in the morning and are back by night. But this time, we decided to spend a night there. We left at nine on Tuesday evening. One of our friends had highly recommended a place called “Heritage resorts”. The place was difficult to locate, since it is set in the interiors of a village near alibaug. But the moment we reached it, we were awed.

It’s a newly opened resort, which can currently accommodate only 40-50 people. It is a peaceful and serene place surrounded by mountains on two sides and is a fifteen minute drive from Mandva jetty. The place has been set up beautifully too. Every cottage has two rooms and each room can accommodate four. There are 6-7 such cottages. The rooms are clean and hygienic. There is a swimming pool with a music system setup on one end of it. The food is prepared by the local villagers and this adds to the ethnicity of the place. The charges are a nominal 850 per person (and this includes breakfast, lunch and dinner).

The only downside of the place was that there are no air conditioners in the rooms.

The place is ideal for group picnics and weekend getaways.
