The Dark Knight

The Dark Knight is the first Batman movie that I have seen. I may not be able to compare this to the other Batman movies. I am also not a hardcore “Superhero” based movies fan. Though this movie does not disappoint, but I am still unable to find out why people are rating this as an excellent movie. Agreed that it’s a good movie, but all the hype seemed unjustified when I was through with the movie.

Some positives about the movie:

Heath Ledger as the Joker. He is chosen to be the strongest character of the movie and has been given the best dialogues and he doesn’t disappoint.
A good base plot. The movie has a strong plot which is rare in most of the superhero flicks.
The movie has a plethora of thrilling moments (Joker’s escape from prison, the plan to assassinate the commissioner, judge and Harvey Dent) and some really great action sequences (the trailer chase and the kidnap of the Hong Kong guy).
The Batman gadgets are phenomenal. The bat mobile is awesome and so is the bike.

There a few negatives though:
The movie is unusually long (150 mins) for a Hollywood flick.
The movie has a few weak moments where you lose interest in the story. These could have been omitted.
Batman’s voice could have been better. Most of his dialogues are hard to understand.
